It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen (Al) Harold Fuger (Pa), born on October 10, 1948 to Ella (Pat) and William Fuger. He passed away on February 5, 2023 surrounded by his family after a long health battle.
Allen was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Ann Fuger, his brother, Dennis Wade Fuger, and his parents. Those who were lucky enough to know Allen will never forget the smile he put on their faces. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Allen was born to Willam and Pat Fuger in Pocatello, Idaho. He grew up in the Iona area and attended Bonneville High School. After his family moved to the west side of Idaho Falls, he graduated from Idaho Falls High School. There, he met the love of his life, Joy Jorgensen. Allen and Joy were married on May 24, 1969, and were committed to each other from that day forward.
In 1970, while Al and Joy were living in Nampa, Idaho, they welcomed their first child, Sheryl Annette. The three of them moved back to Idaho Falls where Allen followed in the footsteps of his father and served an apprenticeship with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #648. During this time they bought their first home and welcomed their second child, Travis Allen.
Allen leaves behind his daughter, Sheryl Donnelly, and son, Travis Fuger. His grandchildren; Angella Catlin (Austin), Jordan Tiblow, Chelsey Rowan (Cody) and Jeramiah (JT) Fuger will forever know the love he had for them. He was blessed with numerous great grandchildren, who will miss his presence dearly.
Allen was known for his smile, sassy wit, and generous heart. He had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest, always putting his family and friends first. He had a love for music, the outdoors, and was an avid NASCAR and football fan. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing , and camping his entire life. He also liked to play poker and drive his Corvette, way too fast a lot of the time. There was nothing Allen enjoyed more than
his family. Allen loved them, “with all his heart” and let them know that everyday. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for those he cared for.
The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate Allen's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Allen's memory to a charity of your choice; he would have liked that. Allen taught us to cherish every moment, share your feelings with those you love, and to stick to your beliefs.
Rest in peace, Pa. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
