Violet Leona Wiklund

Violet was born February 13, 1935, on the Casper family farm north of Idaho Falls, to Melville and Leona Lords Casper. She had four sisters and one brother. She graduated from Firth High School. Violet married Jimmie Elmer Wiklund on May 29, 1953. They had five children and made Firth their hometown. Violet was active in Firth Homemakers, where she served in various offices: locally, county-wide, and district. She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid gardener, and a lady with flair-whether in the kitchen or garden. Violet and Jim made Firth Tabernacle Assembly of God their home church, and in later years they were a part of First Assembly of God church in Pocatello and Cornerstone Assembly in Idaho Falls. At different times, Violet was a Sunday School secretary, a kitchen coordinator, and the head of women's ministries. She and Jim were active in helping to build churches, Bible schools, parsonages, and campgrounds for the Assembly of God church. Violet is survived by four children: Sylvia Wiklund, Idaho Falls; Lorrie Sternberg (Steve), Pocatello; Allen Wiklund (Trudi), Pocatello; Greg Wiklund (Beth), Idaho Falls; nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jim, a son, Steven, two sisters, and her parents.
