Shirley Ann Hostetler

January 2, 1934 — April 18, 2011

Shirley Clay Hostetler, 77 of Twin Falls left to be with her Heavenly Father on April 18, 2011. Shirley was born to Donald and Violet (Hanneman) Clay on January 2, 1934 in Broken Bow, Nebraska. The family moved to Idaho locating in Twin Falls in March of 1940. Shirley attended schools in Twin Falls, Hansen, and Filer graduating from Filer High School in 1952. Shirley also attended Twin Falls Business School, Link's Business School in Boise, and CSI in Twin Falls.
Shirley moved to Seattle, Washington where she was employed, met, and married Jim Carter. They had one daughter Becky Carter Byberg, and later divorced. Shirley moved back to Idaho in 1975, she then married Stanley Hostetler, where they lived happily for 30 years. Stan and Shirley enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending a lot of time in the mountains communicating with God, each other, and nature.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband Stanley, her parents, her brother Bob Clay, sister Darlene (Bill) Zink, grandson Eric Byberg, great niece Amy Worley, and great nephew Paul Rich, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Becky (Ted) Byberg, grandson Kristopher Byberg, granddaughter Lisa (Ian) Campbell all of Aurora, CO; her sister LaVonne (Roland) Clindist; two aunts Marjory (Clay) Myers of Lincoln, Nebraska and Mildred (Hanneman) Cook of Broken Bow, Nebraska; three nephews, four nieces, and their families, as well as numerous cousins in Nebraska and other states. She is also survived by four step-daughters and their families, and one sister-in-law Joy Hostetler Requa and her family.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to a charity of donor's choosing. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00am at the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Kimberly, ID.
