Philip Eugene Joyal

Philip E. Joyal, 90, passed away March 25, 2010. Preceded in death by his wife, Arleen and Brother George. Survived by 3 Brothers Frank Fabien, Wilfred Nials and Ronald Edward Joyal; Sons Kendall P. (Lana) Joyal, Ronald B. (Audrey) Joyal; Daughters Roberta J. Wagner, Arleen D. Martinez, Barbara A. (Don) Grove and Judith K. Bailey. Born January 26, 1920 in the Old Hooper House in Jarbidge, Nevada. Philip was a graduate of Nevada City High School, attended Placer Junior College in Nevada City, California and graduated with an AA Degree. He was a pilot in the Army Air Corp and transitioned into the United States Air Force where he took part in the Berlin Airlift and flew fighters in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Air Force as a full Colonel in 1967 as Group Commander at Paine Field in Everett, Washington. He ran a flight service out of Elko Airport and served as a Deputy with the Elko County Sheriffs Office in Jarbidge and was active in Jarbidge community affairs. There will be no viewing. Cremation, White Crematorium. A memorial service will be held at 11 am. Thursday April 1 in the White Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Michael Heller officiating. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Dr. Desmond for over 40 years of care and the medical staff at Bridgeview Estates.
