Peggy Marion Wilson

Peggy Marion Wilson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away March 5, 2026, at the age of 81.

She was born October 30, 1944, to Paul and Lilly Nutzman in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She spent her early years on a potato farm outside of Blackfoot, Idaho. Later, the family moved to Salmon, Idaho, where they owned and operated a motel for several years.

Peggy graduated from Salmon High School in 1962. That same summer, she met her future husband by chance. On her way home from Challis, her Volkswagen Bug broke down along the Salmon River. A young man driving a red Corvette stopped and gave her a ride home. That moment marked the beginning of a relationship that lasted 32 years, until Ron’s passing in 1995.

Together they raised three children: Ronda, Mitch, and Matt. From that time on, Peggy’s life revolved around her family. By her example, she instilled values and qualities that her children continue to carry with them today.

Peggy supported Ron in many ways on the ranch. She loved helping harrow the fields each spring and preparing feasts for the branding crews. The family’s Parker House rolls and chocolate steamed pudding were always favorites.

Peggy had a passion for helping people, especially helping them find their dream homes. She was a real estate broker and owned Century 21 in Challis. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and bowling, and she bowled in a league for many years.

Peggy was adored by many and will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jehovah and her kindness, which touched countless hearts. Her faith gave her strength throughout her life and was something she loved sharing with others.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lilly Nutzman, and her husband, Ronald Lynn Wilson.

She is survived by her brother, Steve Nutzman (Melania) of Boise, Idaho, and her sister, Susan Livesay (Bob) of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She is also survived by her children: Ronda Wolf (Ben) of Layton, Utah; Mitch Wilson (Cameo) of Challis, Idaho; and Matt Wilson (Misty) of Tualatin, Oregon. Her grandchildren include Britney Gardner (Glen) of Challis, Idaho; Garret Wilson (Emily) of Challis, Idaho; and Ethan Wilson of Ketchum, Idaho. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Zoe Gardner of Challis, Idaho.

A memorial service will be held at the family ranch in Challis, Idaho, this summer.

Peggy loved the ranch and the Salmon River country she called home, and her warmth and strength will be remembered by all who shared in that life with her.
