Paul Edward Alexander

Paul Edward Alexander, age 69, died on April 3, 2016, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Paul was born on May 2, 1946, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ward and Harriet Alexander. He grew up in American Falls, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1964. He was named a National Merit Scholar in his junior year. He attended the University of Idaho where he was affiliated with Kappa Sigma fraternity. After two years at the university he enlisted in the Army. He served four years including a tour in Vietnam. When he returned home, he attended Idaho State University where he earned an Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology. Paul's career was spent working for the Idaho National Laboratory as a telecommunications engineer. Paul belonged to and was very active in many Masonic organizations. He was a dual member in American Falls Lodge #58 and Eagle Rock Lodge #19, AF & AM of Idaho. He was a Past Master of Eagle Rock Lodge #19 and served the Grand Lodge of Idaho as Grand Historian and 4 years as Grand Lecturer. He was a 33rd degree Inspector General Honorary in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and a Past Patron of Henrietta Chapter #21 Order of the Eastern Star. He served as Associate Grand Guardian for the Grand Bethel of Idaho Job's Daughters and belonged to the York Rite Bodies of Idaho and the Royal Order of Scotland. Besides his Craft Lodge, he derived great joy from working with the young women of Job's Daughters. He always admonished them with "No shopping. No boys. And no tears." Since 2004, Paul was the recipient of two liver transplants which greatly extended his life. Paul read broadly and deeply all of his life. He could answer almost any question because he "read it somewhere." He also was a great fan of "Dr. Who" and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents, his parents, five uncles, two aunts, and two cousins. He is survived by his brother Joe Alexander and his wife Leslie and his sisters Pat Chase and Mary Graham and her husband John. He is also survived by his nephews, Ben and Jeremy Chase and Eric and Nicholas Graham, and by his nieces, Rachel, Heidi, and Amanda Alexander. Other survivors are fifteen cousins.
