Patricia Delores McNamara (Niemeier) passed away April 22, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona at the blessed age of 93, born January 10, 1932 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Arthur and Dorthy Niemeier. Patricia grew up on the farm in Shelley-New Sweden, Idaho with her younger sister Helen. Patricia graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1950. After graduation she attended college in Pocatello, Idaho at St. Anthony School of Nursing Program, graduating and passing the Registered Nursing (RN) exam board she continued at St Anthony Hospital, later working at Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
A friend of Patricia introduced her to Donald E McNamara, who was serving in the US Navy and training in the new upcoming Nuclear Program at the Atomic Energy Site west of Idaho Falls. The two fell in love and married on April 11, 1959. Patricia supported and followed Donald as he was transferred to different locations across the United States and cared for their two sons while he was deployed overseas for months at a time. One set of orders Don received was special to Patricia, the day the family was moved to Hawaii where they called home for the next 7 years. While on the Island she met a dear friend who taught her to paint and finish ceramics, Patricia had a natural talent for doing this. She won many ribbons both in Hawaii and at the Idaho State Fair.
When Don retired from the Navy the family moved back to Idaho Falls, Idaho; Patricia went to work for Good Samaritan Nursing Home as the Head Nurse on floor, and after 10 years of service retired. Patricia and Donald became interested in RVing, joining the Good Sams, local chapters Rolling Russets, and Eagle Rock, they were officers in these chapters as well as Idaho State Good Sam Officers, Patricia also served as Volunteer First Aid Station at their many different events.
Patricia is survived by Sons Dennis McNamara, Kenneth McNamara(wife Juli), and was preceeded in death by her husband Donald McNamara, sister Helen and In-laws Thomas Furniss, Jack and Ruth Perry, along with many Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 15, 2025, 11:00am at St Johns Lutheran Church, 290 7th Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401. Following the Service will be graveside service for the family and friends at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 S Yellowstone Hwy, Idaho Falls Idaho, 83402 followed by a luncheon back at the St Johns church
