Linda Slavin

September 16, 1946 — August 19, 2025

Linda Kay Slavin received her angel wings August 19, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer at the home of her daughter, Teri Perryman. Born September 16, 1946, to Glen and Lee Wilkin in Cortez, Colorado, she joined her older sister, Deanie, and later gained a little brother, Walter. As a child the family lived in numerous places following work in the oil field and grain harvest. Finally settling in Monticello, Utah around 1955, she attended school there until she married Ronald Slavin on June 18, 1963. One year later Ronald "Ray" Slavin was born and the family was completed three years later with Teri Lee Slavin. The family moved to Rigby, Idaho in 1975 for a temporary job and found they were home. Linda's marriage to Ron ended in 1986, but they remained friends until his death in 2006. Linda remained a part of the Slavin family through all her remaining years and cherished her sisters and brother-in-loves as well as all the nieces and nephews. After a short marriage to Clay Woods she met and married Gaylen Hill in July 1996. She loved his family of five children along with their spouses, children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren. They enjoyed many years and laughs until his death in 2020.

Linda never met a stranger and always made a lasting impression; she was loved by all that met her. She found her passion waiting tables in 1980 as a way to get paid for gabbing. She retired from Smitty's Pancake House in 2017 after 33 years.

She was preceded in death by both parents, stepfather Ed Fincher, son Ray Slavin, husbands Ron Slavin, Clay Woods, and Gaylen Hill, son-in-law Monty Perryman, and stepson Brad Hill. Linda is survived by her sister Deanie Wood, brother Walter (Lila) Wilkin, daughter Teri Perryman, grandson RJ Parke (Renee), granddaughter Shayna Marie Perryman, great-grandchildren, Saara, Auri, and Edam Parke, step-children Willie (Angela) Woods, Michelle (Ken) Cain, Bret Hill, Jared (Valerie) Hill, Kipp (Terri) Hill, Susan Hill, Deana Hill, Angie Hill, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many others she "adopted" along the way. Her best friend and daughter, Teri, gave her the greatest joys, grandchildren RJ Parke and Shayna Marie Perryman. She loved sharing pictures and bragging about their accomplishments to everyone she met. We would like to thank Dr. Hammar, Teton Cancer Center, Idaho Heart Institute, Dr. Manwaring, Solace Hospice, Cornerstone Care Giving, her beloved granddaughter Shayna and niece Kathy (Slavin) Hackett for all their care and love.
