Lew Pelot

Carlyle Llewellyn (Lew) Pelot, 76, died in his home in Idaho Falls on June 7, 2018 of an extended illness. The fifth of ten children, he was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 25, 1941, to Ellis Pelot and Mary Johnson Pelot.
Lew graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1960. He married Phebe Holmquist and they had two children, Paul Lewis and Bradley Ellis. They divorced in 1981. He married Lyla Prine and they were later divorced.
Lew worked at Idaho Potato Growers, Boise Cascade and the INL. He was a very hardworking man and a good father, son, brother and uncle. He taught his boys carpenter skills and mechanics and always took time to wrestle with them. Lew liked to fix up old houses and rent them out. He also had a passion motorcycles and speed, though you would never know it if you ever followed him down the street.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Monty Pelot, sister Ann Stark Longhurst and an unnamed baby boy who died shortly after birth. They were all of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Lew is survived by his sons: Paul "Thor" Pelot (Julie Reimann), of Bellingham, Washington and Brad Pelot (Sonya) of Idaho Falls; Grandchildren, Ian and Sophie Pelot of Bellingham, Washington; sisters Dolores Park of Ririe, Idaho, Ida Bush, Janet Call and Betty Pelot, all of Idaho Falls; brothers, Alfred of Boise, Idaho and Mark of Idaho Falls.
The family would like to thank Aspen Home Health and Hospice of their excellent care, especially Chris. A gathering will be held at 10:00am to Noon on Wednesday, July 18th 2018 at Buck Miller Hann Funeral Home, located at 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls. Cremation has taken place.
