Obituary

Kent Joseph Peterson, 75 of Idaho Falls passed away peacefully, at Portenuf Medical Center on November 1, 2025 surrounded by family.

Kent was born on November 12, 1949 in Rexburg, Idaho to Joseph Evian Peterson and Ruth Fog Peterson.

He served in the US Army from Sept. 1969 - Sept. 1971. He spent 1 year in Vietnam. He is the recipient of a National Defense Service Medal and a bronze service star for his military service.

Kent worked for Culligan Water as a service and sales associate and later was self employed as a carpet installer for many years.

On September 21, 1972, he married the love of his life Majorie Ann Gleave.

He has 1 biological child April, and 3 step children Brian, Jon, and Melissa, which he accepted as his own.

Kent's hobbies included camping and fishing, traveling and going to amusement parks with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Majorie Peterson; his children April, Jon and Melissa; brothers Roger (Wanda) Brent (Lorretta) Bob (Mia) Larry; Dean (Shirlene) 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many others who loved him greatly.

Kent was proceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ruth Peterson; grandson David Smart; brothers David Peterson, Gerald Peterson; and Ray Peterson.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Kent was a outgoing person. He was a friend to everyone he came in contact with. He always brought smiles and laughter to many people. He will be missed for his jokes, his laughter, and his stories.

Celebration of life will be later in the spring of 2026.
