Karen McCutchan

May 27, 1941 — November 8, 2025

Karen McCutchan, was born at home in Skidmore Missouri, on May 27th, 1941 to Roy and Ethelyn Dornbergh Clement. Two years later in 1943 a sister Rita was also born in Skidmore. In 1944 the family moved to Richmond, California, where Roy worked in the shipyards as a welder during World War II.

In 1946, after the war, the family moved to Eureka, California, where Roy worked as an electrician. Brother James was born in 1951. 

Eureka would be Karen's home town for the next sixty-one years.

In High School Karen was on the swim team and played clarinet in the marching band. She finished high school early in her Senior year and began training at Fredric & Charles Beauty Collage. When the school year ended in 1959 she received her high school diploma and her license to work as a beautician, which she did until her retirement in 2007. 

On April 2nd, 1960, Karen married Richard Lampi. Their son Eric was born on November 16th, 1962. Karen and Rich would later divorce in 1970, but remained good friends the rest of their lives.

On September 15th, 1973, Karen married Bobby McCutchan and became a stepmother to Tim and Terry McCutchan. Karen and Bob continued to live and work in Eureka until November 14th, 2007, when they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. they were again close to good friends Rich Lampi and his wife Sharon. In Idaho Falls they bowled together and celebrated family meals together. 

Karen was very good at her vocation; her clientele was loyal and followed her for years. She was an avid reader and a good cook; her pie crust was scrumptious. She was fair and kind, and is a loved by and survived by her husband Bob, their sons Eric, Tim, and Terry, five grandkids, her sister Rita Ronk and brother Jim Clement.

Karen passed surrounded by love in her home on November 8th, 2025.
