Karen Johnson Curnutt

February 3, 1944 — April 12, 2024

Karen Johnson Curnutt passed away on April 12 with her loving husband and two sons by her side.

She was born in Logan Utah on February 3, 1944 to Dale and MarDean Johnson. Her early years were spent on a dairy farm until the family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1962.

Later that year she met the love of her life Mike Curnutt when he was on leave from the Navy. They were married within a month of their first date, and just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on January 18th. Karen spent her life devoted to her family, raising 6 children and opening her home up to many others throughout her life. Her grandchildren/great grandchildren brought her the deepest sense of joy. Karen was always in the kitchen cooking, and anyone who walked through the door never left hungry. Karen also loved being outside, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, camping, fishing, and boating. She was also a committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and loved serving others.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and older brother Nyman. She was survived by her husband EW (Mike) Curnutt, and her children Michael, Joeseph, Jennifer Smart, Jonathan, Daniel and Megan Bedke, her thirteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was also survived by her siblings Karla Tingley, Rita Korbis, Becky Forcey, and Jim Johnson.
