Joanne Jacobsen

JoAnne Hensell Jacobsen, 85 of Idaho Falls, passed away on Sunday September 28, 2025. JoAnne was born December 7, 1939 in Shelley, the daughter of Charles Theodore Hensell and Ada Marie Johnson Hensell. She grew up in the Wolverine area and attended schools in Shelley.

In November 1968 she married Ronald Shirl Jacobsen. They lived in Idaho Falls where she was a homemaker. In April 1971, they adopted a son, (Ronald) Paul Jacobsen, making their family complete. Joanne enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping in the mountains and fishing, especially in the Palisades area.

JoAnne is survived by her son, Paul (Nicole) Jacobsen, grandchildren, Mason (Erin), Makell and Rylee Jacobsen, and great-granddaughter Madison Jacobsen. Step-children; Debbie, Vickie, Jodie, Penny, Rick, Ronnie and several step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Elva Cherry, Winnie Hatfield and a brother Bill Hensell.

The family would like to express their thanks to the caring staff at Lily & Syringa and Aspen Home Health & Hospice . A private family service will be held at a later date.
