Humberto "Albert" Quintero, Jr., 72, of Ontario, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center - Ontario. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, June 3rd at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services will at 2 pm, Thursday, June 4th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 661 SW 12th St., Ontario with a viewing from 1 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Ontario. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Albert was born November 23, 1942 to Humberto and Olivia Quintero in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Ontario High School and joined the Army National Guard in 1960 serving until 1968. In 1962 he enrolled at Treasure Valley Community College majoring in Electronics, he was also the first Student Body President. Albert married his first wife Sandra Powell June 23, 1964 they had two beautiful daughters Kimberly and Kristina. October 16, 1972 Albert married his second wife Arlene Mosso; they had a beautiful daughter Amber. Through the years he worked at various food packaging plants as an Electronics Technician. He later went to work for Malheur County as an Interpreter and Drug Court Specialist where he retired from. Albert was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease in 1983. Approximately one year later his sister Stella gave him one of her kidneys. Unfortunately, Albert's body rejected the kidney causing him to have to return to dialysis for a few years until he was blessed with a donor kidney in 1988, amazingly the donor kidney lasted 27 years until his passing. Albert enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and most of all riding his 4-wheeler with his wife Arlene until her death in 2003. He will be remembered for his courageous strength, his beautiful smile, sense of humor, loving ways and being a great husband, father and grandfather.
Albert is survived by his daughter, Amber (Rob) Grant of Payette, ID; daughter Kimberly (Paul) Saucerman, of Meridian, ID; daughter Kristina (Josh) Bruns of Meridian, ID; step son Mark (Christine) Mosso, of Middleton, ID; sister Alma (Dan) Wolf of Fruitland, ID; sister Rita Quintero of Ontario, OR; sister Stella (Mike) Frahm of Portland, OR; sister Esther (Steve) Ussing of Meridian, ID; brother Tony (Reta) Quintero of Salem, OR; brother Charlie (Loris) Quintero of Ontario, OR; brother Mario Quintero of Ontario, OR; brother Roy (Pam) Quintero of Pasco WA; and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
