Geraldine Emily Farrar Whitmill

Geraldine Emily Whitmill, 98, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 13, 2016 at Lincoln Court Assisted Living, under the care of OneSource Hospice. She passed surrounded by her loving family. Geraldine was born November 1, 1917 at the foot of Shelley Butte, in Idaho, to Edith Pearl McMillan and James Joseph Farrar. She attended Basalt and Firth High School. In 1934, she married Lewis Whitmill and resided in Idaho Falls where Lewis worked at the Ford Motor Company and Geraldine worked at Woolworths, Fogg Drug and Pay n' Save Stores. After retiring, she worked on the Election Board. Lewis passed away in 1996. Geraldine remained in their home living independently until 2014. Geraldine was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and member of the UMW. She enjoyed traveling with extended family members, especially to the Oregon Coast, one of her favorite destinations. She is survived by her children: Bonnie (Ron) Hilker of Idaho Falls, ID and Roger (Kay) Whitmill of Spencer, ID: five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren and one brother: Jay Farrar of Spokane, WA. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Virginia, Irene, Edith and Juanita; and two brothers: Bill and Francis. .
