Woody was born to May Rella Stroud and Dwight Hopkins on Sept. 3, 1938. He graduated from High School in 1957. He enlisted in the Air Force for four years and in the Air National Guard for two years.
He married Mary Peterson March 17, 1979. He was a machinist and mechanic by trade. Woody enjoyed building things with his hands and would go out of his way to help friends, family or strangers.
Woody was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gold dredging. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Ontario.
Woody is survived by his wife Mary Hopkins; his children, Carolyn, Donnie, Roy, Carl, and Vernon; two brothers, Earl and Timothy; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret and two grandchildren.
The family would like to thank everyone at Pioneer Place for the loving care they gave Woody.
