Elva Kathleen Nelson

July 20, 1925 — November 24, 2016

Born July 20, 1925 in Success, Saskatchawan Canada to James and Annie Wright, Elva Passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho at Turtle and Crane assisted living center November 24th, 2016 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Growing up, Elva's family had owned a farm in Success, Saskatchawan before moving to Vancouver, B.C. In her early 20's she worked at a bank before meeting John Golden Nelson. The two were married October 20th, 1950 and made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. John and Elva opened Nelson's Deluxe Cleaners on 1st Street in Idaho Falls and raised their four children, Mike, Mark, Teresa and Kimberly. John (Golden) and Elva separated in 1975. After the separation, Elva decided to continue her education and moved on to a job working at the Bonneville County courthouse. Elva later retired from the courthouse and moved to San Clementie, CA to help take care of her granddaughter, Alexis. Elva later moved back to Idaho Falls for the remainder of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, baking, bowling, sewing and a variety of other crafts. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and loved volunteering when she could. Elva is preceded in death by parents, James and Annie Wright and brothers Norman, Walt, Cliff, Ralph and Harry. She is survived by her children, Michael G Nelson, Mark Allen, Nelson, Teresa Kathryn Hoyle, Kimberly Ann Lewis (Daren), six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday December 3, 2016 at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow at Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Buck Miller Hann Funeral Home.
