In Loving Memory of Elizabeth “Liz” Baker
Elizabeth “Liz” Baker passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable honesty.
Liz was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished sister, a proud grandmother, and a great-grandmother who meant the world to her family. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. To know her was to love her.
She was a proud graduate and valedictorian of Bryman College, a reflection of her dedication and determination. Liz also honorably served as a combat medic in the Army Reserves, where she qualified as a top marksman—demonstrating both her skill and discipline. Her service reflected her courage, compassion, and willingness to care for others in even the most challenging circumstances.
She was known for speaking her mind—always honest, always real, and always with a spark that made people smile. Liz had a beautiful voice and could sing like an angel, filling rooms with warmth and comfort. She found joy in the simple things—whether it was eating ice chips, sucking on rocks, or sharing a laugh with those around her. Her sense of humor and lighthearted spirit could lift anyone’s mood, and she had a special gift for making people feel better no matter what they were going through.
Liz is survived by her loving husband, Clayne Stanley Baker; her daughters, April (Russel) and her children; Angie(Marcus) and her children and grandchildren; Crystal (Philip)and her children and grandchildren; and Laura (Philip) and her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Clayne Philip Baker, along with other loved ones who welcomed her home.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her love, her laughter, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A celebration of life will be held in Mackay, Idaho, on May 16th at 2:00 p.m. This will be a potluck gathering, and guests are invited to bring a dish that reminds them of Liz. Please contact Kristen Baker at (801) 891-6688 to let her know what item you plan to bring.
