Douglas Eugene Lance

September 30, 1964 — July 6, 2015

Douglas Eugene Lance, 50, of Fruitland, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at his home in Fruitland. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., July 13th at Origins Faith Community, Ontario, with Pastors James and Tammy Vogt officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doug's life. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. Condolences may be made to Doug's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
Doug was born on September 30, 1964 in Gooding, Idaho to Charles E. Lance and Carole L. Story. He attended school in Gooding through 8th grade and graduated from Huntington High School in 1982. Doug spent over 25 years working in the millwork industry and was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge #1690 where he developed a heart for serving others.
While in Fruitland, he met Josie and they married shortly after in December 1987. Doug and Josie welcomed three children into their home (Amaya, Alli, and Hunter) who remember their dad for his heart to serve others, compassion, loyalty, and how he always remained proud of his "shock & awe" style of humor.
Doug enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, archaeology, reading, hiking, traveling, history, carpentry, Auburn football, and despite family controversy...Boise State Football. He attended Origins Faith Community Church and had been involved with multiple service organizations and mission trips including: Angel Wings, Better Together, Disaster Relief Cleanup in Mississippi, construction work in Mexico, and as a board member with Camp Cascade.
Doug is survived by his wife, Josie "Jo" Lance, mother Carole E. Story (Buckley), children Amaya Auw (Jeff), Alli Lance, and Hunter Lance, grandchildren Elias James Auw and Ezekiel Paul Auw and friends Rufo & Margie Isaguirre (in-laws).
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Angel Wings or Better Together, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
