Dorothy Mary Baggett

March 1, 1915 — April 11, 2010

Dorothy Mary Anderson Baggett, 95, of Buhl passed away Sunday, April 11,
2010 at home. She was the daughter of Edwin and Laura Anderson. She attended
schools in View and Burley. After high school she went to the Utah Beauty College in
Salt Lake City, Utah. She enjoyed her career as a beautician before marrying Oleen Baggett, August
29, 1934 in Burley. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to
California during the depression years and Oleen worked in the orange groves. They
returned to Burley where they farmed five years. Then they moved to Buhl and bought
Oleen's father's farm in the Northview area where they farmed for 60 years. A new
venture was the creation of the Riverview Orchard. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
serving in many callings such as MIA, Road show dramas, Relief Society president, and
as a visiting teacher. When Oleen joined the Magichords, she enjoyed helping backstage
by helping with the makeup, hair and costumes. They were members of the Northview
Grange and she was a lifelong member of the Northview Ladies Club. She served as a
volunteer Pink lady for Magic Valley Memorial Hospital. Dorothy and Oleen loved
getting together with their special friends, having good food, singing, playing musical
instruments in their home. They spent several winters in Arizona and also enjoyed
traveling with the Good Sam's Club. Dorothy loved to entertain and share her home and
was never happier than when all of her family was around her with not one left out. She
was always the life of the party. The special holidays and birthdays spent with Mother,
Grandmother and Great-grandmother will never be forgotten, especially Christmas Eve. Dorothy spent a couple of years living at Alterra in Twin Falls and then she
moved back home to Buhl to her own home and was cared for by her daughters Viola and
Judy until her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Beldon, Dewayne, Ray,
George, Edwin, Harold and Kenneth; two sisters, Lois and Elma; one son, Gene; one
grand-daughter April; and one son-in-law, Vern. She is survived by two sons, Gary
(Judy) and Larry (Dee), two daughters, Viola Chidester, Buhl, Judy (Ray) Wight of Twin
Falls and one daughter-in-law, Lorraine Baggett of Buhl, 18 grand-children, 46 great
grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. What a great Mother you have been to all of us. We will never forget how fun
you were and how loved we all felt in your presence. We will love you forever. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m. at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park" and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 in the Relief
Society Room at the Church prior to services on Saturday. Funeral Services will be held at
11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Buhl
1st Ward. Burial will follow in the West End Cemetery Buhl.
