Colleen Tabor

July 18, 1942 — July 23, 2025

Colleen Tabor, 83, passed away July 23, 2025 surrounded by family and friends.

She was born July 18, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Horace and Adria Clary. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as Thayne, Afton and Star Valley, Wyoming before moving to Idaho Falls in 1951.

At 9 years of age she wanted to be a cosmetologist and after attending Idaho Falls High School she went to Beauty School receiving a cosmetology and an instructors license in the same year.

After beauty school she worked in Nampa, Idaho and Jackson Hole, Wyoming before ending up in Merced, California.

That is where she met Robert Tabor, they were married September 2, 1962. She and Robert moved back to Idaho Falls where they had two children. They were later divorced.

She had various jobs before landing in the Idaho Falls Public Works Division. After that she obtained her paralegal status and worked as a legal secretary for Holden, Kidwell, Hahn and Crapo. She then worked for the Idaho State Health and Welfare department in Grangeville and Pocatello before retiring and moving back to Idaho Falls to be near family. She then worked part time for Faler Law Office and Idaho Legal Aid.

Colleen sought out volunteer work and joined Civitans where she loved working with local charities, she really enjoyed participating with Special Olympics and attended their local, state and national competitions. She liked traveling to Civitan conventions all across the country and she was honored by them many times.

Colleen was a busy lady and enjoyed many activities throughout her life including bowling leagues where she traveled frequently for tournaments. She enjoyed dart leagues, Friday night Mexican Train Dominoes and Saturday night Bingo sessions at the senior center where she was accompanied by her long time friend Connie Morishita.

She thoroughly enjoyed going on cruises, her favorite flowers were Iris’s (though she called them Flags), and her favorite food was dessert (specifically Tapioca pudding) and she always loved cuddling her four legged friends.

During her idle moments she spent time with her hobbies which included knitting, crocheting, needlework and crafts. If she knew anyone that was having a baby she was headed to the fabric store for quilting material, she was always making something for somebody.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents Horace and Adria Clary and her son James Tabor.

She leaves behind her brother Les Clary, her daughter Theresa Tabor and her sons Ian Tabor and Austin (Cassandra) Tabor and her daughter-in-law Susan Tabor and her sons Shelby (Alisha) Tabor and Chase (Nina) Tabor, she had one great granddaughter Rose who was the apple of her eye.

She was a great lady and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
