Beverly Joann Routt

September 2, 1933 — January 18, 2011

Beverly Jo Anne Routt from Buhl passed away from a courageous battle of breast cancer on January 18th at the age of 77 years old.
Mom was born September 2nd, 1933 in Crawford County, Iowa. Her parents were William Casper McCoy and Bernice Andresen McCoy. At a young age, Mom and her family moved from Iowa to Idaho and lived in various towns, Twin Falls, Hansen and Murtaugh. She graduated from Hansen High School in 1951. In high school she met her lasting love, Dee Routt from Kimberly. They were married July 16th, 1950. After traveling with Dad while in the service, they settled in Pocatello, then Murtaugh and started a family, Rick, born in 1955, Kent, born in 1960 and Lisa, born in 1966. In 1966, Mom and family moved west of Buhl, then later south west of Buhl, where Mom and Dad farmed and raised cattle. To this day, the farms and cattle were her life, as was her tole painting. She was an avid tole painter since 1980 and to the day she died, she wanted to "go home and paint".
She is survived by her family; brother, William (Nadine) McCoy of Twin Falls, sons; Rick (Ladeana) Routt of Twin Falls and Kent (Robin) Routt of Buhl and daughter, Lisa (Mark) McBeth of Pocatello. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her many friends from Magic Valley Decorative Artists, Mountain States Tumor Institute and various others from her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee and her parents.
A celebration of Beverly's life will be at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park" at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22nd. Memorial donations can be made in Beverly's name to Mountain States Tumor Institute or the Humane Society. Mom was a good person and she was tough. She wanted so much to keep farming and painting. We love you Mom. You just keep on painting.
