Alverta "Amy" Marie Miller
Amy Miller of Idaho Falls was born in York, Pennsylvania on 9/2/1938. Amy graduated from William Penn High School in 1956 and married James Miller in August of that year. Amy and Jim raised 2 sons, James, Jr and Paul Edward. In August of 1972 Amy, Jim, their 2 sons, a dog and a cat moved to Idaho Falls to be close to Yellowstone National Park and leave the crowded East behind them.
Amy was the secretary at First Lutheran Church in Idaho Falls for 7 years and then took a job at ICPP at the INL processing personnel security clearances for 14 years. In 1995 Amy and Jim retired and moved to Montana. In 2002 they returned to Idaho Falls to live.
Amy and Jim were married for 63 years at the time of her death on 1/21/2020 which occurred 3-1/2 years after she had had a stroke. Jim was by her side holding her hand and talking to her as she passed away peacefully at EIRMC . There will be no funeral service as Amy will be cremated.
