Albertha H. Vickery

Albertha H. "Birdie" Vickery passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015, of natural causes. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-7 pm, Thursday, June 4th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. The rosary service will start at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, June 5th at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 510 W. Roosevelt, Nampa. Birdie was born Feb. 5, 1929 to Andrew and Ann Herman in Roseland, IN. They moved to Payette where she met and married Don Vickery. They raised six children on a dairy farm outside New Plymouth. In 1974, they sold the farm and moved to Payette where Birdie worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Edwards. Don and Birdie retired in 1990, and made their home in the Nampa area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, and her brothers Daniel and Eugene. She is survived by her two daughters, Ann (Terry) Shake of Fruitland and Lori Vickery of Nampa; four sons, Dennis Vickery of Draper, UT, Dick (Bev) Vickery of Willow Creek, OR, Thomas (Rhonda) Vickery of Nampa, and Jim (Jody) Vickery of Salt Lake City, UT; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
