Adrian Allan Hill

Adrian Allan Hill, 82, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born on July 4, 1932, in New York City, New York, to Burton E. and Janet A. Schmidt Hill. He moved to New Jersey at age 5, graduating from high school in Englewood, New Jersey. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas Tech University in 1954. He married Dolores G. Schaefer on May 5, 1956 in Union City, New Jersey. Adrian worked for Westinghouse for 21 years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and 19 years at the NRF site. He retired in 1994. Adrian was a life long member of the Catholic Church and served on parish councils and other committees. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Adrian was a Boy Scoutmaster in Pittsburgh for 13 years. In Idaho Falls Adrian held many district and council positions and worked on three Wood Badge leadership training staffs. He was honored with the Award of Merit and Silver Beaver. Adrian started FREEMED, an organization which helps low income people obtain prescription medications. He was the volunteer director for 6 years. Adrian was a recipient of the 8 Who Make a Difference award in 2005. He always showed great concern for other people especially the less fortunate. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Hill of Idaho Falls; daughters, Peggy Dahle of Magna, Utah, and Cathy (John) Kaliski of Mankato, Minnesota; son, Paul (Eleanor) Hill of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 145 9th Street in Idaho Falls, with Father Raul Covarrubias, celebrant. A Rosary will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with a visitation from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. both at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls.
