Removal Technician
Job Responsibilities:
A removal technician is the usually the first contact our families have with our funeral home after the passing of a loved one. The removal technician will briefly meet with families and get an understanding of what the final arrangements will be for their loved one. After briefly meeting with families, the removal technician will then transfer the deceased from the location of death to our gurney (cot) for transport to our funeral home. Removal technicians will occasionally meet with police, fire, EMS, coroner, hospital/nursing home and hospice staff before performing the removal.
This career requires heavy lifting and stooping. The applicant must be able to lift at least 70LBs. Applicant must be able to conduct themselves in a respectful manner especially in difficult and/or unpleasant situations. Applicant MUST have valid driver's license with clean record.
This is an on-call, as needed position. Applicant must be willing to handle calls through-out the day and night. This position will be on a rotating schedule that can include weekends, days, nights, and all holidays. Applicants may occasionally also help with funeral services/after hour visitations, facility maintenance (such as cleaning, yard work etc.).
